Bathroom Remodeling
Carlsen Design & Construction provides design/build services for bathroom remodels. We are just as happy to do an upgrade as we are to do a complete gut and build out. As you will note from the Design/Build page on our website, we “design to budget” and pay special attention to identifying and balancing the client’s needs and wants within their budget.
Regardless of what you want to spend, you can expect us to design a bathroom that maximizes the space and light available and to lead you to tile, fixture, cabinetry and hardware choices that are functional, beautiful and good quality. Our designers are excited by their work and will sit down with you and devise the best layout, color schemes and finish choices that will give you the beautiful bathroom that you have always desired.
Every fitting or fixture, tile or textile meets our uncompromising standards for quality assurance and excellence — proving that functionality and aesthetics go hand-in-hand.
An Example of Form Fitting Function
Carlsen Design and Construction was hired by a past client to gut completely and then build out a custom “kids” bathroom.
The existing bathroom had a bathtub and the client wanted a bathtub/shower combination, which required standard plumbing and ceramic installation. Easy enough, except there was one major obstacle-the double hung window located along the length of the proposed shower wall.
Putting a shower rod in front of the window was aesthetically out of the question, and likewise, replacing the window did not make sense for aesthetic and cost reasons.
Our designers considered relocating the shower, but there was neither an obvious place to put it (the window was centered on the room and would have encroached on the shower space regardless of location), nor the budget to make that change.
After considering the various options, one of our designers recommended that we install a frameless glass enclosure with opaque glass for privacy. The result was a shower that was fully functional (including a window protected against water damage) and a pleasing architectural detail.
